Event Manager – A Constantly Changing Profession:
Communication experts with practical tips for successful business communication and dialogue about the influences on the event manager generation
The event and trade fair sectors are already faced with a shortage of qualified skilled labour and managerial staff today. The “Skilled Labour Requirements in the Event and Trade Fair Sectors from 2018 to 2023” study conducted by the Chemnitz University of Technology, the Communication Studies Institute and Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe GmbH proves that this shortage will get worse in the coming years. Special challenges with which the event industry is faced are the qualification of skilled and managerial staff and employee retention.
At the Career Hub 2019, the Communication Studies Institute’s Expert Forum for Skilled and Managerial Staff Communication, experts will therefore enter into a dialogue with young talents, skilled and managerial staff of the sector about the following aspects:
Event Manager – A constantly changing profession: What did the job profile look like 10 years ago? What are the challenges today? Which skills continue to be important, which additional skills are required today?
What are the requirements placed on future event managers by event agencies and trade fair and event service providers? On which competence and skills can future event managers score high?
New employment worlds: Agility from the company’s point of view. Relevance of an agile project management for young talents.
Main topic – Event Safety and Security: Which know-how is expected from an event manager?
The Career Hub’s practical tip: “5 tricks for successful communication” – experienced communication coaches give tips for the “daily business”.
